Dear Little Me,
I know life feels chaotic, unsafe, and absolutely terrifying but one day you’ll discover yourself holding a weed eater in the middle of a downpour, listening to Taylor Swift on your AirPods, and be filled with so much joy you can’t help but dance.
I know that you feel like a constant failure and a mess but one day you’ll be in the middle of scrubbing your bathtub and smile cause you’ll know you aren’t anything like that bathtub.
I know that it seems scary to share your thoughts and feelings, but one day you will have two notebooks and a blog because your beloved words just won’t stay inside anymore.
I know that the hypocrisy of religion is confusing and upsetting but one day you’ll discover that the religion of others saved you from the religion you yourself carry. You’ll find that relationship and love will create the freedom your soul has always craved.
I know you think the only way to beauty is to be smaller, but one day, you’ll look in the mirror and see that the reflection in it is good just the way it is. It doesn’t need diets, restrictions, and goals. Each previously unwanted curve and dimple will be a reminder of His goodness and provision even in the darkest moments of your life. You will love being “nice and plump with dimples in your elbows”.
I know that peoples opinions are debilitating to you right now, but one day you’ll be free of them. You will finally get to be you. Unapologetically so.
One day you’ll wake up to find that you have made it through horrible days and that you can face the rest of your days filled with hope instead of dread.
Oh dear little me, we’re going to make it to freedom and joy. We are absolutely going to make it to goodness following all the days of our lives.
Love from your biggest fan, Older Me
